Product Description

Wonderful vintage Native American handmade bracelet featuring inlay that we attribute to John Gordon Leak set by an unknown but fantastic silversmith. Often in early jewelry pieces there was collaboration between the Zuni and Navajo artists. Sometimes the Zuni would simply stick the mosaic that they created on a piece of cardboard and sell it so that it could be made into a piece of jewelry by usually a Navajo silversmith. We believe that is exactly what happened here except the Navajo smith decided to get a bit creative with the inlay by adding the silver channel work.

As you can see by the shank, the silversmith was exceptionally talented and had great skill in his craft. It would take such an artist to pull this off and that he did. This turned out to be an exceptionally fine bracelet and a terrific example of how creative and innovative these artists could be. I can guarantee that you are not going to see anything like this very special bracelet anywhere or anytime.
