Beloved Navajo, Dine', artist Ray Adakai created this heavy and wide handmade Sterling silver bracelet using his own proprietary process that allows there to be actual repousse on a thick and heavy shank that is decorated on the inside as well. The pictures of this bracelet show the depth and precision of the repousse' decorating the shank. each is chased with stamp work and the balance of the shank is decorated with yet more stamp work. Fantastic! How is this possible? How can he create HAND HAMMERED REPOUSSE with hand-stampwork on the inside of the cuff? I promised to never reveal his process. It is a secret. You will not find its equal, try as you might. RAY ADAKAI (Navajo / Dine'; 1965 --.) Adakai is known for his retro style stamp and repousse' work which has been favorably compared with the work of Fred Peshlakai and his relative, McKee Platero.
