Product Description

This is a fantastic heavy vintage Native American handmade belt buckle featuring 110 grams of hand cast sterling silver set with a handsome natural turquoise stone. Comparing this belt buckle to a copper one pictured in the book as well as information provided by the seller, we believe this was made by Zuni Tom Weahkee during the second quarter of the 20th Century.

The cast work is exceptional and the buckle weighs a ton. There is a lot of detail that was carved into the tufa cast as well as chisel work done after the casting was complete. The turquoise stone appears as though it could have been replaced at some time but has definitely been in the buckle for a long time.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CAST BUCKLES WE HAVE SEEN IN YEARS!
