This important vintage Native American handmade natural BLUE GEM turquoise and Sterling silver bracelet was created by beloved Navajo, Dine', artist Ike or Austin Wilson. Due to it's clearly older age, we believe this one was made by Ike who was killed in the early 1940's. The Wilson's, who we believe to be brothers, skills as silversmiths are almost unmatched by any Native American or Southwestern silversmith, living or dead! Even this relatively simple bracelet exemplifies those skills. First, notice the deep and precise hand stamping on the shank. Few can match the surety of this work. Second, notice the how he manipulated the silver after spitting the shank. He actually transformed each of the split pieces from a single flat wire into half-round wires. His attention to detail does not end there. He added four silver drops. Each one has a lip cut into it with precise chisel strikes. Finally, he added spiral wire flanking the intense green of the solitary stone, but not to miss a trick, he twisted the wires before forming the spirals. Surely, you can recognize that this bracelet is a tour de force for Wilson. THE ARROW! WOW THAT IS KILLER!!
