Santo Domingo, Kewa, artist Raymond Coriz combined hand cut Bisbee Blue turquoise and handmade Sterling silver to create a fanciful pendant hung on a handmade chain. Two high domed Bisbee Blue turquoise stones are the focus of this piece of jewelry. The larger of the two stones is positioned at the top surmounted by silver feathers and a silver drop. A smaller stone, a flower, six stamped silver drops, and a road runner complete the design. The pendants base is split into four arms ending in curls. A silver hook attaches the piece to a thick Sterling silver ring and a handmade silver chain formed of 7/8" long links complete with a 1" long handmade hook. Make this fantastic pendant and chain a great part of your collection of fine Native American arts. Bisbee Blue Turquoise is one of the most beautiful types of Turquoise that has ever been taken out of the ground in North America. It's striking true blue color ranges are spectacular and the chocolate matrix that the Turquoise is found in, extenuates it's beauty. Bisbee Turquoise is some of the finest Arizona Turquoise and there is no Turquoise on earth that is comparable to Bisbee Turquoise, as it has it's own unusual characteristics that are unique only to itself. In the late 1950's, a deposit of Turquoise was found in the Lavendar Pit region of the Bisbee Mine.By the early 1960's, Bisbee Turquoise had become the finest Turquoise the market had ever seen and demand for it went through the roof. There is very little Bisbee Turquoise available today and due to it's rarity and exceptional beauty it is very valuable.
